_______________History of ABMS
The idea to create the Association of Belarusian Medics was formulated
on September 13, 1999 during national scientific-practical conference
"Belarusian medical education", that was conducted in Minsk
State Medical Institute by the local branch of Belarusian Students Association.
The basis of organization consisted from the students of senior courses
and lecturers of Minsk Medical Institute, as well as the students and
practicing doctors from Minsk, Slutsk, Homel and other regions.
In the process of development the ABM was joined by doctors from Masty,
Lida, Zhitkavichy, Vitsebsk, Hrodna, Baranavichy, Mahiliou, Maladechna

2000
The Frantsishek Savich competition on the history of Belarusian medicine
for medical students.
Campaign against obligatory employment of graduates of medical educational
establishments.
2001
Public campaign "Think, doctor, - elect!".
Seminar "The Role of Medical Associations in building of civic

Seminar "Social Adaptation of Wheel Chair Disabled in Small Towns

Creation and distribution of series of medical educational information
materials on the issues of children health and certain infections diseases.
The work on the dictionary of Belarusian medical terms was started.
The web-site of the Association of Belarusian medics is created.

ABMS cooperates with various establishments and organizations in order
to coordinate efforts in social sphere, performs work on the issue of
prevention of common diseases (AIDS, tuberculosis, infectious hepatitis
and other) as well as social adaptation of disabled and people with
chronicle diseases, distributes medical knowledge among the population
of the country, assists in protection of rights of medical specialists,
and monitor their violations, works out the concept of reformation of
health care system, conducts special seminars, lections, trainings to
increase the professional level of medical specialists.
The expert group works on the creation of Belarusian dictionary of medical
terms.
We created the information-analytical group for informing the public
about the modern state of health in the country and tendencies of development
of health care system in Belarus.

The campaign on informing the population on the issues of payment
medicine, distribution of printed materials on the rights and obligations
of doctors and patients.
Seminars for doctors on the issues: "Legal Provision of Medical
Activities", Medical Business in Belarus".
Public campaign "Let's Make it better' 03" dedicated to the
World Health Day.
Publishing educational materials on the actual problems of health care.
